I’ve always been a big fan of mutton ever since i remember. This is one of the few dishes am good at making. Whenever i make this, my friends would guess right that am preparing sukka .The reason behind all this genius guessing would be the aromatic smell peeking thro’ d door.. It is such a damn good side dish. This makes ur sunday’s lunch beyond perfect …..

Ingredients :

Mutton — 250 gms
Onion — 1/2 (chopped)
Tomato — 1/2 (chopped)
Red chilly powder — 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder — 2 tsp
GG paste — 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder — 1/4 tsp
Salt — as reqd
oil — as reqd
Corainder leaves — 2 tbsp

To roast and powder :

Cinnamon — 1 inch piece
Cardamom — 1
Cloves — 2 no.
Saunf (sombu) — 1/2 tsp
Balck pepper corns — 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds — 1 tsp
Poppy seeds — 1/2 tsp

To grind :

Coconut — 2tbsp
Cashews — 5 no.
Saunf — 1/2 tsp

Method :

Clean the mutton and add turmeric powder,GG paste,Tomato ,onions & a cup of water to the mutton and pressure cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Once the pressure is released , check the mutton whether it’s cooked or not. If it’s half cooked, don’t panic. Anyways we r going to cook in the following process. Now take a wide pan and pour 1 tbsp of oil. When it’s hot, add the onions and the roated powder . Fry for a minute. Now add the mutton along with it’s soup mixture. Combine well. Drop in the red chilli powder,corainder powder ,salt and the coconut paste. Close it and cook till almost the water is absorbed. U may add extra water if u feel the mutton needs to cook thoroughly. Keep the flame in medium low or sim. Add little bit of oil then & there ,slowly cook the mutton until u see each and every piece dry. Garnish it with corainder leaves and serve.
